The mixer uses a scrolling system to navigate its many sections and you can split the mixer window off to a second screen if you have one, or expand it to full screen to maximise the space on offer. The Props have been careful to keep things useable even when adding loads of new functionality. The similarity to a real mixing console is still evident, only now it’s a much bigger and more capable desk that you’re working with. Since then much has changed, not least the incorporation of full audio tracking, and the mixer has had a complete overhaul to match. Simpler and more approachable than other DAWs’ mixers at the time, it used the same real world analogy as many of the other modules and was really easy to get to grips with. When Reason first debuted, its mixer was a breath of fresh air in the DAW world.
